Why AMD had to change the Zen name to Ryzen for its new chip architecture

You know when AMD’s Ryzen is , how much it’ll cost, and you even have a pretty good idea of its . But you might not know why AMD dropped the original Zen name for Ryzen, so we asked. And it all begins with what AMD couldn’t do with the brand.
As John Taylor, corporate vice president of marketing for AMD, describes it, AMD was between a rock and a hard place. Mike Clark, an engineering fellow at AMD who led the Zen architecture development, had dubbed the architecture “Zen” for the balance it struck between various aspects of the design. Fans who had followed Zen’s development would buttonhole AMD execs and rave about the Zen name: “‘I love Zen...there’s something about it I’m just connecting with,’ they’d say,” Taylor said.

Belkin 12-outlet PivotPlug review: Clever design helps avoid blocked outlets

This best-in-breed affordable surge protector continues to let power flow even after protection is exhausted. If you have equipment that could lose data or be damaged if powered down abruptly, including a desktop computer with a hard disk drive (HDD) rather than an SSD, Belkin’s 12-outlet PivotPlug (model number BP112230-08) is the right choice.
Its $33 price tag makes it one of the more expensive surge suppressors we’ve evaluated lately, but it’s also the most flexible and it has the highest joules rating (4320) and the lowest clamping voltage (330 volts on all legs).
More clamping requires adding MOVs () to increase joules, because it’s more likely surges will eat away at the protection when the voltage threshold is lower, and this model lists durability in joules at 40 to 50 percent higher than its two closest competitors that we've reviewed to date.

The Five Best Ways To Promote Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite

Added: 23.02.2017 9:55 | 0 views | 0 comments

Injustice 2 is getting a tremendous amount of buzz right now. The team at NetherRealm Studios has done a fabulous job with the games reveals, between teaser trailers here and there, major new characters that are being added to the game and other great features that are coming, as well as a private beta that has stirred up a lot of general interest in the game. And yet, its kind of weird that we havent heard a peep from its biggest competitor, Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite, since its reveal. The game was first showcased at the PlayStation Experience back in December, and only a handful of characters have been revealed thus far. There are a few lessons Capcom could learn from NetherRealms approach to Injustice 2. Thats not saying outright copy the ideas, by any means, but rather take them and roll with them as their own, like with character reveals and other events.
